The similarities between closeted right-wingers and Chris Evans

Alternative title: "Dear Mr. future president Evans,"

Recently, I saw how Chris Evans met Joe Biden. For people who don't know. Chris Evans has a political online platform called ASP. This was not the first time he met a famous politican but meeting the president of the United States is something else. It should be clear by now why he does that... Anyway, it reminded me of the gossip I found recently:

As I mentioned in my last big blog post, about Chris' potential boyfriends, I am not really a fan of marvel and didn't know much about him during his time as Captain America. I only got interested after he started the cringeworthy PR relationship in November 2022. In 2018, I was made aware of how many closeted celebrities exist and Mr. Evans being so clumsy with his Portugal bride gave me the perfect opportunity to uncover this Hollywood facade.

As you can see, I have also been asked by a lot of people why I think Chris could be closeted (either gay, bi or a straight guy who doesn't want to commit and just sleeps around). I will answer these questions in relation to today's topics: I. The Portugal PR relationship is mostly done for his future political career (or that was the plan before the backlash) II. The behavior of closeted right-wingers resembles Chris Evans' III. Portugal Bride was not the first PR relationship rumor but why does a rich, attractive and alleged womanizer like Chris need PR relationships all the time? As I always say. Everything on my tumblr is alleged. I merely summarize what people speculate online and give my own opinion on that.

Tim Scott, a failed GOP 2024 candidate and alleged closeted gay man, announced on X that he got engaged to a woman:

As you can see from the screenshot, no one's buying it. It is rumored Tim Scott is doing this because he will be chosen as Trump's vice president. People online claim that Tim Scott being gay has been talked about way before the first "Why doesn't have Tim Scott have a girlfriend" articles:

I heard about Tim Scott being gay and being pressured to have a PR girlfriend around the same time Chris pretended to have gotten married in September and that made me think... I can't find the comment anymore but I remember someone of Chris' fans on the LSA forum suggesting that Chris' "A starting point" political platform isn't just for shits and giggles. Apparently, he wants to go into politics after his acting career. No idea how successful he will be now with that after his latest movie flops and the Portugal relationship having led to lost followers on his social media accounts because it made him appear as a "dollar store Leonardo DiCaprio" but in general..., this idea isn't too far off. Remember the Terminator aka Arnold Schwarzenegger? An action hero became the Governor of California and with Chris Evan's fake Captain America image, pretending online and in interviews to be like Steve Rogers, he could sway a lot of people too!

Remember. The alleged marriage wasn't the first PR relationship of Chris Evans. At least according to his fandom, when they explained how he and Portugal Bride met, he was involved in several other PR relationships before:

According to this person, the relationships with Christina Ricci and Minka Kelly from long ago, were planned by a PR team too and it adds up with a blog post I found years ago about how Minka is allegedly a beard for my back then favorite actor Jake Gyllenhaal. So his PR team not only allegedly had several options next to the Portugal Bride (like Monica Barbaro) but they were apparently also responsible for his faked relationship with Lily James? It is rumored that Lily wanted more from this PR arrangement from back in 2020. Possibly real love? The social media site Icons+ reports that "Lily James left Chris Evans to be a millionaire's "other woman"". She basically publicly "cheated" on Chris and many gossip sites reported on it. Did Lily do that as revenge because Chris solely wanted PR and rejected her? Kinda like "if you don't give me real love, I ain't giving you positive PR either". It makes me wonder though. Why would a heterosexual man privately reject a pretty woman like Lily James after wanting to be seen with her in paparazzi photographs after all? Odd.

Yes, Chris' alleged personal Paparazzo with the name Jesal basically admitted that he was called to do the pictures with Lily back in 2020 (Nowadays, he seems to be busy with the Portugal PR relationship as you can see from the screenshot, where he was called for a christmas party Portugal Bride and Chris attended). This reminds me of of another failed 2024 GOP candidate who is rumored to be closeted. There is a medium article regarding Ron DeSantis called "Is the GOP gossiping that Ron DeSantis is gay?", how most if not all of the GOP party know about his alleged homosexualty:

As you can see, not just his own party but the general public thinks so too. In fact, they speak about Ron DeSantis' being closeted the same way some people speak about Chris being allegedly closeted:

The replies to this dailymail article about Chris' and Portugal Bride's relationship-reveal, demonstrate that people think that both Chris and Ron overplay the alpha male macho tough guy image, solely to cover their true sexual orientation.

But PR relationships can also have another function. As I pointed out on my blog before: There are many heterosexual men I know who just wanted to sleep around but because of societal pressure, they pretend to be monogamous. The latest political example of that seems to be Gavin Newsom who has been in the news for being an alleged serial cheater. He was already caught cheating back in 2007. On X I found this summary of his latest shenanigans: (TRIGGER WARNING: mention of SA)

Why do I mention Ron DeSantis and Gavin Newsom in relation to Chris Evans? Because they all have one thing in common. A fake stable married man image. Look at the header picture of DeSantis and Newsom on X. Newsom holding his son in his harm. A few weeks ago, DeSantis had a header picture of holding his children's hands and the latest picture, you can see right now, also shows his wife and kids again to portray the family man image while allegedly being someone completely different (a closet case = Ron, a cheater= Gavin). Sorry not sorry but when I saw those header images combined with the rumors I knew about those two guys, I immediately though that Chris is not so different. He also calls the paparazzi, so he can be portrayed for the public as a guy who has a stable relationship and doesn't randomly sleep around in all kids of places.

As someone pointed out on the Lipstick Alley thread called "Chris Evans Relationship Theories 5", he used to go to parties similar to the ones seen in the movie "Eyes Wide Shut" but these rumors were allegedly scrapped by his team when he became Captain America. Why did they worry so much about this specific gossip? Was it true after all? Apparently this goes back as far as 2006:

I have no problems with that because I am pro sexual liberation. I actually point this out so we can normalize this and let people be who they really are, so that they don't have to do these fake relationships anymore.

I mean, remember the screenshot from my "Chris Evans possible boyfriends" post? The user ShellyT20... how she described that a lot of PR relationships in Hollywood exist because the male actors either sleep with each other, have p-word scandals and/or are serial cheaters "but post fake romance stuff on IG and other public platforms. It gives a fake sense of normalcy and stability and shuts fans up for the most part as well as acting as a distraction." When I read this I got reminded of the public "beyond the blinds podcast" episode you can listen to on spotify. The one about the Hemsworth brothers. There it was alleged that Chris Hemsworth is constantly cheating. I wasn't surprised. He isn't my type but I can't deny that he is what most consider super attractive + tall + rich = in no way is this guy monogamous as a famous hollywood actor (LMAO the audactiy to even thinkt hat)... Sadly, when I confront some people with that... for instance Evans fans on LSA or X, most roll their eyes and don't believe that.... They were like: "How can a guy like C. Hemsworth, who posts social media posts about loving being a father and being married for over a decade possibly be such a bad guy"... ... ... ... ... Well and this the reason why Hollywood still fools you with PR relationships because most of you are gullible. You want to see men married with children and as long as the women are age appropriate, you eat it up. And all this goes even beyond these Hollywood celebrities and politicians the general public is aware of. Apparently, even e-celebs are in PR relationships/fake image relationships these days. The youtuber TheQuartering, who said he was partying with right-wing e-celebs said this about them last year: (TRIGGER WARNING: transphobic slur)

Just like how Chris Evan's fans are disappointed that he wasn't the internet boyfriend after all (his fake image for the 2010s) and started to date random young women like Leonardo DiCaprio and Bradley Cooper, TheQuartering was disappointed too with his right-wing colleagues, who pretended to be committed husbands with children while actually being a closeted pride parade. The right-wing commentarors TheQuartering talks about are: Elijah Schaffer, Jack Posobiec and Mike Cernovich. When I found that out I was shocked. I was like "So even these e-celebs are basically "their own Hollywood club" and need PR relationships to function publicly". It really shows how deep gender roles are still ingrained in our society. That even internet-famous people have to have a family man image and portray themselves in a certain way to become "e-celeb-A-list". And if they don't, they will be denied that status.

I know it hurts that your favorite A-list stars are also wife cheaters and that their activism is most likely fake only so that they can continue participating in Hollywood orgies (Which apparently already happen on the e-celeb level). But at one point it had to come out and isn't it better to accept reality than to participate in and support these fake scenarios only to feel better about the world? Cause it is not just TheQuartering who exposed the fake image of the right-wing online community. Blaire White, a right-winger herself, pointed out the same. As people say, where there is smoke, there is fire:

In this video at 55:35 regarding Blaze Media, Blaire White spills tea about closeted e-celebs. It also includes orgies and drugs... like with our favorite super hero (allegedly).

Lastly, one of the most famous right-wing e-celebs is Steven Crowder. On his channel he had a video where he once admitted that he had a bisexual phase... a phase..

And according to his own logic that means:

He also went so far and basically created beard twins. I remember clearly the video where he announced the pregnancy of his wife. He held up a picture into the camera from an ultrasound. It was like "See, I am hetero after all. Are you happy now?". That's at least my opinion on how the video looked like and it adds up with what peole usually say about him:

Honestly, if someone had told me that this text is about Chris Evans, I'd have believed it and so now we have come full circle. While I only know about Chris Evan's since the pandemic (As I said, I don't watch super hero movies), I am still disappointed. In some interviews, he appeared so adorable, awkward and different from other men in Hollywood (like when he was interviewed about his "Lightyear movie announcement" tweet on Jimmy Kimmel). But in the end he is no better than the closeted republicans. Portraying a conservative image of marriage while behind closed doors it is worse than a sitcom trying to convince you that canned laughter makes everything funnier.

Yes, there have always been rumors that his real personality is being "weird and awkward" and that he is not just acting in movies but also in most interviews. It goes so far that someone claimed he had been rejected on a date and that's why some people assume it is actually him who initiated the Portugal PR relationship and basically paid for it because he can't get someone himself through normal means. Are some people punished with their good looks?

IMO just like with the married right-wing e-celebs who do orgies all the time, it is also a bad idea of Chris wanting to become a father (at least according to his "sexiest man alive" PR narrative from 2022 which seems to be in the trash can now too).

But let's assume his PR team has that still on their minds: Not only would it be solely for his image (which would make this situation PR either way, even if the marriage were real) but according to all his alleged wild ways, he is also unfit to parent, it would be a disaster actually. Controversial commentator Pearl Davis described it very well. How some people just shouldn't be parents:

I agree with Vale. She would just be in it for the image of being a married woman and in our case... a married, monogamous, non-cheating family man. A user on LSA said that when you switch out "fake nails" with "fake teeth" in Pearl Davis' message, you will have the pefect description of Chris Evans:

I love his clothing style but a bi-peacock who is more interested in vanity and fake status will never be a good role model for children. As the saying goes: "You can't have it both ways"

I know this is all a tough pill to swallow but c'mon people. This is the year 2024 and at one point this fakeness just needs to stop. Celebrities, politicians and even social meda e-celebs... you are being fooled. And according to Hollywood insider and daughter of famous TV personality John Walsh, a lot of times, one partner of the arrangement is suffering. Is this really what you support? I don't and that's why I uncover all these PR relationships of the entertainment world because as a true progressive, I don't think that people should be judged based on outdated gender expectations like marriage and monogamy.

The closet kills... your real personality. I mean honestly, what do you gain from being remembered after your death as someone you never were? As Joan Rivers jokes at 0:43 in a short clip from 1966. This so called bearding has been going on forever. I don't think we need a 100th anniversary of this shameful practice. So please help me to expose this so that in the future, celebrities can become famous for truly being themselves.

Introduction

Do you ever wonder what could go beyond the status quo in the healthcare system; especially if you realize that there were about 48 million non-elderly Americans who were uninsured in 2010. (Finegold et al., 2021). The absence of health insurance can have devastating consequences for the financial well-being (FWB) of those who suffer from a severe illness or get seriously injured in an accident. Financial challenges faced by uninsured individuals in case of a mishap include delinquency on medical and non-medical bills, reduced access to credit, and increased chances of fling for bankruptcy (Dobkin et al., 2018; Hu et al., 2018)

It might be possible that the status quo only needs minor changes to improve the system overall; especially when considering that people in the political system spout wanting more of a market-based or more of a command-based system when we already have a mixed economic system. This is especially true in the United States of America.

Consider that many people cannot afford health care; even when there have been attempts to get more people health care insurance. They have to rely on someone else's money to provide their health care; whether that is help from the government or a not-for-profit organization (which includes friends and family).

A mixed economic system is one that combines aspects of both capitalism (i.e. market-based) and socialism (command-based). A mixed economic system accepts private property and permits economic freedom in the use of capital, but also allows for governments to interfere in economic activities in order to achieve social aims. Most countries in the world have mixed economic systems.

Advantages and Disadvantages of a Mixed Economy

A mixed economy combines several of the desirable qualities of both capitalist and socialist economic systems. The capitalist principles of free enterprise, market-based prices, and private property create incentives for innovation and efficiency, while elements of a welfare state and price controls guarantee a minimum standard of living.

However, social welfare programs can create a high tax burden and distort the market. Price controls, such as minimum wage laws, can have the unintended effects of reducing employment, according to the Philips curve. Other interventions, such as housing guarantees or free healthcare, can sometimes result in shortages because pricing does not reflect availability.

A mixed economy also allows the government to set its strategic priorities through selective interventions in the economy. For example, the United States gives favorable tax treatments to certain agricultural and manufacturing industries, because they are considered crucial for the country's long-term economic health.

Mixed economies can also result in less competition or regulatory capture, as private interests lobby for favorable regulations and tax treatment. This can have the perverse effect of regulations being determined by industries rather than policymakers.

Centralized Planning: One of the primary advantages of a command economy is centralized planning. Government authorities can set clear goals, allocate resources strategically, and coordinate economic activities to achieve specific objectives. This can lead to efficient allocation of resources for critical sectors such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure.

Income Equality: Command economies often prioritize income equality by implementing policies that aim to reduce wealth disparities. Through progressive taxation and social welfare programs, they can provide basic necessities to all citizens, ensuring a certain level of economic equality.

Stability and Predictability: Government control can lead to economic stability and predictability. Prices, production, and wages are typically regulated, reducing the likelihood of market fluctuations and economic crises.

Disadvantages of a Command Economy

Lack of Incentives: In command economies, where the government owns or controls most industries, there can be a lack of incentives for innovation, efficiency, and entrepreneurship. Without competition, there may be little motivation to improve products or services.

Market Economy – A market economy is free of all government control. “The economic outcomes are determined by the market forces and the so called ‘invisible hand,’ to use a term coined by philosopher Adam Smith,” Yates said. The invisible hand is a metaphor commonly-used among economists to describe how market forces work together

 

What Are the Pros of a Market Economy?

1. It provides a society with the right goods or services at the right time (catastrophic health care) Because competition works with supply and demand in a market economy, businesses and individuals receive access to the exact goods or services that they need. Although the quality of these goods may vary based on who manufacturers them, different socioeconomic classes can access specific goods within their price range that they wish to own. This eliminates the ability to have a central authority dictate who should receive access to specific goods and at what price.

2. A market economy promotes entrepreneurship. Because the emphasis within a market economy is on innovation, it creates an environment where entrepreneurship can thrive. It supports the process of discovering new products or services that will be wanted, while allowing individuals and businesses to decide which products or services will best meet their needs. It is a structure that provides profits for businesses of any size while creating satisfied customers at the same time.

3. It creates competition. A market economy thrives because businesses are forced to continually innovate to survive. Businesses that refuse to innovate will be left behind because there will always be someone willing to look at things in a different way. This motivation is the foundation of a market economy because it must be there to encourage better products and services to be offered over time.

4. It reduces the need to store products. Because the laws of supply and demand are enforced in a market economy, manufacturers produce goods based on the demands that the society requires. This reduces the need to store surplus products because anything that is extra will be sold at a deeply discounted price or simply destroyed. The goal is to find a balance between society’s demands and the number of goods that are produced.

5. Market economies tend to provide more jobs. Small businesses in the US economy represent 99.7% of all businesses. Businesses with fewer than 20 employees in the United States account for 89.6% of the workforce. With a market economy, the focus on innovation allows these small businesses to find a niche and provide local jobs that can pay well. Although larger companies may outsource jobs to save money, local jobs come from individuals and partnerships that exploit a good idea they may have.

6. Prices are usually kept down in a market economy. Because competition is present within an industry, prices tend to stay lower because businesses are attempting to obtain as many customers as possible. It is this element that is a core philosophy in the Republican health care proposals that circulated in 2017. By introducing competition in the insurance markets across state lines, the goal is to drop policy pricing for many consumers.

What Are the Cons of a Market Economy?

1. Market economies tend to produce inferior goods and services. The goal of a market economy is to find balance between cost and profit. Businesses will minimize costs and maximize profits. That usually means skilled workers who demand high wages will be replaced by low or average-skill workers who can still produce a reasonably good product, but at a cheaper price. That means a market economy rarely provides the best possible goods and services that could be produced.

2. It harms the environment. A market economy places an emphasis on the cost of good produced over any other factor. That means there are fewer environmental concerns that are addressed during the production of goods. When it costs less to dump waste in nature than it does to properly dispose of it, the lack of governmental interference or a central authority would allow such an action to occur.

3. Outsourcing is frequent in a market economy. Because the goal is to produce the highest quality goods at the lowest possible prices, many companies outsource jobs and manufacturing to foreign providers. Outside of the developed world, wages are much lower. Most of humanity lives on less than USD $10 per day. If a local worker needs $10 per hour for their needs and a worker elsewhere will work for $10 per day, outsourcing allows a business to create better profits.

4. Commodity prices typically rise in a market economy. Commodities are primary agricultural products or raw materials that are bought or sold. Coffee is a commodity, as is copper. In a market economy, these are the items that are essential to the manufacturing process. Without them, a business cannot create goods or services for sale. Because supply and demand applies, and most businesses need commodities to function, the pricing of these goods is higher and that increase gets put into the final consume price tag.

5. Economy imbalances occur frequently within a market economy. The Great Recession in 2007-2009 occurred because of a lack of regulation in several sectors, including housing, around the world. Similar recessions have occurred throughout history because a market economy eventually creates an imbalance. When more businesses attempt to maximize profits without regard to risk, eventually a negative event occurs and the consumers tend to be the hardest hit by the fallout.

The pros and cons of a market economy show that the forces between businesses and consumers can be beneficial, even if there are minimal controls or regulations in place to dictate that relationship. Although there is a risk for harm to workers and the environment, similar risks exist in other economy forms as well. With the emphasis on innovation and the chance for entrepreneurs to thrive, the positives of a market economy are often seen as outweighing the negatives.

AYITL 2 is never happening won, of course.

There is zero evidence for any of these theories (other than Milo and Jared going overboard on their bromance a while back, of course). In the first few years after AYITL, this fandom was poised for an imminent revival and did not give a shit that most of the cast had moved on and no one other than Lauren and Matt wanted to return (and Matt gave up on that after he booked The Resident, it seems). There's a lot of projection onto Milo here, who....did not support returning for this reason and said in multiple interviews that he thought Jess and Rory should move on. I don't think he's that hung up on whatever went down with Alexis or made ASP promise anything in exchange for his return, I just think he's over that whole period of his life and wasn't looking to turn it into a full-time gig. Hi lovely! Thanks for your message. I've gotten quite a few asks about this, but I'm just going to answer this one, because I don't want to dwell on the negativity that's attached to it.

Thanks so much for the congratulations, and thank you for not being argumentative or polarizing in your ask, but let me first of all reiterate, just in case, that I am just as much as Seb stan as I am a Chris stan. I can hear some people rolling their eyes because they're like 'hello you've literally only reblogged chris today' but like........... if it had been Seb, I'd have done the exact same thing obviously, so come on. (I'll put the rest of my reply under the cut because it got long)

Now, I don't know for sure why some people thought it would be Sebastian (I think some people started discussing that it *should* or could be him and that created rumours, but correct me if I'm wrong). As far as I'm aware, there was no real indication that it could be him, beyond that apparently the SMA title is 'supposed' to go to someone who's had a 'big' year in their career, however that might be defined. We can all agree that Sebastian 1000% had a big year, and that he's been doing incredibly well for himself, and that he's looking sexier than ever, so OBVIOUSLY he would have deserved the title, I'm not at all debating that.

But while Sebastian has been doing amazingly well for himself and is much more well known that he was a few years ago, I think he's still not quite at the level of stardom that most people who get 'crowned' SMA are. So to me, it's not a surprise that he didn't get it, and I would have never expected him to get it (at least not this year). Again, not because I don't think he deserves it, but just because I don't feel like he's at at level of fame (yet). And even if I'm wrong, and he is on People's radar, then he'd still have to accept the title, and honestly, I'm not sure if I could see him doing that. Maybe not ever, but especially not at this time in his career. He's focusing on being taken more seriously, and I'm not sure how well a title like this one would help with that. This is just my personal feeling though, and I'll readily admit I might be wrong.

However. That still doesn't change the fact that Chris getting the title does not mean he's stolen it from Sebastian, which is apparently how some people have been acting. That's just complete bullshit. Only one person can get the title every year, and it's a tribute to that one person, NOT a slight to literally every other man on the planet. I personally find it unbelievable that some of Sebastian's stans are saying that Chris doesn't deserve the title because Sebastian should have gotten it. That makes no sense. Maybe if People had announced a shortlist and Chris and Seb had both been on there I'd have sort of gotten it, but that wasn't the case so ???

I've also seen people say Chris hasn't had a big year in his career and he therefore doesn't deserve the title ('what has he had? two bad movies?'), which, with all due respect, get lost. Chris has worked his ass off this year too, he's given us two movies (which I personally genuinely loved, for the record), done two world press tours and given us a whole lot of other stuff too (puppy interview and ASP to name but a few) and in my opinion it's incredibly rude and entitled to say he doesn't deserve the title because his movies didn't do as well as Sebastian's, or because you personally didn't like them. Best Friend’s Brother: Babe’s First Christmas - Chris Evans x Reader

A/N: Okay so I ended up having two one shot ideas for Chris-mas day and I couldn’t decide which one to post so you’re getting both! So this is my second entry to @wiypt-writes​ 25 days of Chrismas, Day 25! Dividers made by @firefly-graphics​

If you haven’t already worked it out by the title, this take place in the Best Friend’s Brother Universe and is set after the Epilogue. This oneshot can be read as a stand alone, however if you want to read the series I will link the masterlist below!

Summary: Planning the perfect first christmas is no easy task, especially when you also agreed to host both sides of the family....

Christmas was always a joyous yet stressful time of the year. Everyone getting excited for the festivities while also making sure they had all the presents etc sorted. You and Chris always loved Christmas as you loved nothing more than sitting in front of the fire under a blanket.

This year was even more exciting because it was Ellie’s, your 5 month old daughter, first Christmas. Which in turn also made it even more stressful because you wanted it to be perfect and you’d also agreed to host both your families this year.

As soon as thanksgiving was over Christmas was on your mind. Going out of your way to make you had everything you needed and that nothing would go wrong. You’d planned everything, almost every time you’d come home from the shops you’d bring some new Christmas based item home. Chris had even heard you mumbling about Christmas in your sleep.

Chris too had been getting into the spirit, or at least trying to around his work schedule. While he didn’t have any movies to shoot until spring next year, he still had a million things to do like meetings with his management, organising ASP interviews and shooting those. He wanted to get as much of it done before the holidays so he could spend the entire holiday period enjoying himself with his family and not having to worry about a thing.

However with Chris being busy almost all of December it meant that almost everything fell to you to organise. Which while in theory you were okay with, in hindsight it probably wasn’t the best idea while also trying to care for a 5 month old.

Chris was out of the house doing a photo shoot and interview when he got pulled aside by his publicist.

“We’ve been given a heads up about a story by people magazine” she told him quietly.

“Okay, good or bad?” Chris sighs feeling like he already knew the answer.

“Well its all speculative and its just a bad photo that’s been taken out of context” she explains making Chris raise a brow in question.

“A photo of who?” Chris asks putting his hands on his hips.

“Of Y/N and her mom out shopping” she tells him passing him her phone which had the photo in question on it.

Chris sighed as he took the phone and looked at the photo. It wasn’t as bad as he thought it would be but he could see how the brief snapshot moment could be taken out of context. You and your mom were walking along the sidewalk talking, your mom holding your daughter who’s face was thankfully obscured. You were clearly venting something to your mom, gesturing wildly and running your hand through your hair. Chris could see whatever you were talking about was stressing you out and he could tell you were close to tears.

Chris remembered that day and when you got home you didn’t seemed stressed. You didn’t tell him anything when you got home. So he guessed that you must have felt better after talking it out with your mom but he still expected you to talk to him about it.

The problem was is that the media and everyone else saw this and assumed it meant problems in the marriage. It didn’t help that you were wearing gloves so you couldn’t see your rings.

Trouble in Paradise Y/N Evans was spotted out on Monday Christmas shopping with her mother and infant daughter.

However it seems that the shopping trip was far from joyful and festive. Y/N was seen to be having an emotional conversation with her mother.

Sources close to the couple say that Chris has been working away from home for weeks now, barely spending time at home. Is the pressures of being new parents and long distance putting a strain on the marriage? Chris Evans is slated to appear in more projects in the new year, are more cracks set to appear?

“Right okay” Chris sighs running his hand over his beard in annoyance.

“Do you want me to call her to let her know?” His publicist asks.

“No, I’ll talk to her later, thanks for the heads up” Chris sighs shaking his head.

“It’s nothing, look don’t worry about it, this’ll blow over in no time, maybe a post on Instagram might help?” She suggests.

“Yeah okay, I’ll discuss it with Y/N later” Chris nods passing the phone back to her.

He knew the photo would blow over, crap articles like this tended to anyway. His fans were far more behind you and him than they were at the beginning of your relationship. They wouldn’t believe this crap. The thing that was bothering Chris was that you had been upset and he didn’t know why.

As soon as he could he headed home to talk to you about the article, and whatever it was that upset you. As he got into the house he found you leaning against the counter head in your hand as you looked down at the list you were making.

“Hey you okay?” Chris greeted you, walking towards you.

“Hm?” You hum glancing up “oh hey didn’t hear you come in” you smile once you saw him.

“Been up to much today?” Chris asks standing besides you and running his hand up and down your back.

“Yeah been pretty busy, Ellie is just taking a nap, so I thought I’d organise what food to get for Christmas day” you say giving him a small smile.

“Okay, hey um we got a heads up on an article being published” Chris tells you seeing your shoulders drop.

“Is it bad?” You ask wincing slightly.

“No, not really, just a photo taken out of context that’s all, there’s absolutely nothing true in the accompanying story” Chris tells you squeezing your shoulder.

“What’s the photo?” You ask him.

“You and your mom out shopping but you seemed upset by something” Chris explained gently.

You paused for a moment glancing down before looking up at Chris “Upset? I don’t remember being upset, do you have the photo?” You ask him.

“Uh yeah, one sec” Chris mumbles as he pulls out his phone to find the photo.

He watched you as you glanced over the photo to see what your reaction would be. But your expression was completely unreadable which just made him more concerned.

“Oh yeah, I remember now, I wasn’t upset just got really passionate about this climate change thing” you say waving it off with a shrug of your shoulders turning back to your list.

“Oh okay, well you know you can talk to me about anything, no matter how small” Chris says gently his hand returning to your back.

“I know, but I’m fine” you say giving him a small smile.

Chris wasn’t convinced that you were completely fine. He’d seen you go on passionate rants about climate change or extinction and they didn’t look like what he saw in that photo. He knew you well enough to see something wasn’t right.

Just as he was about to question it once more the baby monitor came to life and you could hear Ellie crying. You glanced up at Chris who was torn between going to Ellie or finding out what was wrong.

“Chris seriously I’m fine, now go, she’s calling for you” you push giving him a warm smile.

“Okay, I love you” Chris sighs kissing the side of your head.

“I love you too” you smile as he heads out of the kitchen.

Ever since that day Chris made sure to keep an extra eye on you. Trying his best to help out whenever he could. Staying up after you’d gone to bed to clean up or do laundry that you hadn’t had a chance to get to.

He hoped that you would open up now that you had less to do, but you didn’t. If anything he could see you getting more and more stressed the closer to Christmas. So he had to pull out the big guns.

Shutting the door to his office he sat down and pulled out his phone. Phoning the only person he knew that had the full story.

“Hey Chris, is everything alright?” Your mom asks as she picks up.

“Hey, I’m good I just need your help with something” Chris sighs running his hand over his heard.

“What’s wrong?” Your mom asks.

“That’s the thing I don’t actually know, I can see Y/N is stressed about something but she won’t tell me. And I don’t really want to go behind her back go find out but I’m starting to get worried especially since Christmas is only a couple days away, and there was that photo of the two of you” Chris explains rambling slightly.

“She didn’t tell you? She promised me she’d talk to you” your mom sighed.

“Talk to me about what?” Chris asked confused.

“She’s just feeling overwhelmed Chris, she bitten off more than she can chew with hosting everyone and trying to make as many memories for Ellie as possible, giving her the best first Christmas” Your mom explains and Chris silently curses at himself for not noticing it.

“Why didn’t she say anything, ask for help?” Chris asks.

“Chris you know her as well as I do, sometimes she’s too stubborn for her own good, and now that you’re back working again she doesn’t want you to worry and stop what you’re doing, especially since you’ve been trying to get it all done before Christmas” your mom explains with a sigh.

“I did offer to help with Christmas dinner and all that and she said she’d talk to you about it but clearly she hasn’t” she adds.

“Okay, well i’ll talk to her about it, but if that offer of help is still there” Chris sighs as he thinks out loud.

“Of course it is, I know exactly what it is she’s doing for dinner so I can easily jump in” your mom tells him.

“Great thank you so much for this” Chris thanks leaning back in his chair.

“It’s nothing, i’ll see you in a couple days” your mom says before hanging up.

Leaving his office he walked down the corridor towards the living room where he found you and Ellie playing with a Christmas play sensory kit. When Ellie saw Chris walk in she gave an excited squeal waving her little arms.

“Hello princess, you having fun with momma?” Chris asks as he sit down lifting her up for a cuddle.

“Yes lots of fun” you smile watching as Ellie nuzzled her head into Chris’ neck.

“Well someone seemed tired out” Chris chuckles gently as he bounces a now sleepy Ellie.

“Sounds like its time for a nap then” you say gently stroking Ellie’s back.

“I’ll put her down and then why don’t you and I have a little chill out?” Chris suggests.

“Yeah sure sounds great” you smile as Chris stands up to go put Ellie down for a nap.

When he returned back downstairs, baby monitor in hand he found you no longer in the living room but in the kitchen looking over a list.

“Hey I thought we were gonna chill out” Chris says walking over.

“Oh I know I just remembered I needed to check we had everything ready for tomorrow and Christmas day” you say not looking up from your list.

Chris sighed plucking the list from your hands and setting it down on the side.

“Chris!” You complain trying to reach for it.

“Nope we’re gonna talk” Chris states pushing the list further away.

“Talk about what?” You ask crossing your arms over your chest.

“I spoke to your mom today” he starts and he instantly sees you freeze for a second like a deer in headlights.

“What about?” You ask playing dumb.

“About the fact that you’re feeling overwhelmed with all this planning” he explains gesturing to your lists “and that you won’t talk to me or accept help from your mom”

“I have everything under control” you huff in anger “I can’t believe you went behind my back!”

“I had to! You wouldn’t talk to me! You lied about the photo! You kept saying you were fine when you’re obviously not!” Chris argues.

“I am fine!” You snap but even Chris could see the tears forming in your eyes.

He hated seeing you like this, all he wanted to do was make it better so you could actually enjoy Christmas.

“Darlin’ please, I can see you’re stressed and all I want to do is help, so we can all enjoy Christmas” Chris says gently.

“That’s all I’m trying to do” you admit quietly, looking down at the floor hugging yourself.

“This is Ellie’s first Christmas and I just want it to be perfect, I want there to be all these memories of doing fun activities and having the best Christmas ever” you continue sniffling.

“Oh sweetheart c’mere” Chris sighs pulling you into his embrace, gently rubbing your back as you cried.

“Ellie is gonna have the perfect Christmas no matter what, and even if something goes wrong she won’t remember it, do you remember anything from when you were 5 months old?” Chris asks when your crying had receded.

“No” you admit with a sniffle.

“Exactly, we’re the only ones who are gonna remember it and we’re not gonna enjoy it if we’re stressing over making sure it’s perfect” Chris says cupping your cheeks and wiping away your tears.

“Yeah you’re right, but there’s still so much to do to get ready for everyone” you sigh shaking your head.

“We’ll handle it, your mom’s offer of helping with the Christmas dinner is still on the table, my mom will probably help too, I can get Scott to help wrap all the presents, we’ve got an amazing and large family who love us to bits so lets let them pull their weight” Chris smiles making you chuckle gently.

“Thank you Chris, I feel much better now” you smile leaning up to kiss him.

“Its what I’m here for” Chris smiles.

“Now you go get comfy on the couch while I grab us some snacks and hot chocolate” Chris says running his hands up and down your arms.

“Okay don’t be too long” you say looking up at him with a smile.

“Wouldn’t dream of it” Chris grins kissing the top of your head before you head back out.

Christmas morning Chris ended up waking before you so when saw Ellie was awake on the baby monitor he snuck out of bed, carefully not to wake you up.

“Merry Christmas princess” Chris smiles walking into the nursery.

Ellie babbled happily holding her arms out to him.

“C’mon little elf” Chris smiled lifting her up smiling at her elf baby grow you’d put her in.

“Are you hungry?” Chris asks tickling her stomach making her squeal and giggle.

“Oh did you like that?” Chris chuckles continuing to gently tickle her stomach making her squirm in his arms.

“Someone’s excited for Christmas” Chris heard you say behind him.

Turning around he spots you leaning against the doorframe smiling as you watched the two of them.

“Sorry I forgot I left the monitor on the bedside table” Chris apologises as you walk over.

“Its fine, are you excited to see what Santa got you for Christmas?” You ask taking Ellie’s small hand and bouncing it.

Ellie responds with some more happy babbling shaking the hand you held excitedly.

“Lets go get some breakfast before everyone else wakes up, specifically the kids” Chris chuckles.

Walking into the kitchen you found Scott, Steve, Carly and her husband Ryan all stood drinking coffee.

“Ah there’s my favourite youngest niece” Scott smiles quickly walking over and taking Ellie from Chris for a cuddle.

“I’m surprised you guys are up already, I thought you’d be getting some more sleep before the kids woke up” Chris commented as he moved to make himself and you some coffee.

“Well you’ll realise soon enough you’ll feel better waking up early instead of being woken up early” Ryan says making you chuckle.

“And Scott is just a massive child himself” Steve smirks gesturing to Scott who was playing peekaboo with Ellie.

“Age is just a number” Scott retorts glancing back over at Steve.

“Well we should enjoy the peace while it lasts, the kids couldn’t stop talking about opening their presents last night” Carly chuckled.

“Lets get this one fed and dressed before it gets too manic then” you say as you finish making Ellie her baby cereal.

Once Ellie was fed you took her back upstairs to clean her up and change her. You’d brought a cute little red sweater that had ‘Ellie’s first Christmas’ on the front. You finished the ensemble off with some red white and green candy-cane leggings and little elf booties.

When you came back downstairs everyone else was up and awake, all eating breakfast in the kitchen.

“Oh don’t you look adorable!” Lisa exclaims when she sees you and Ellie.

“I know I am ma but what about Ellie?” Chris smirks earning a small shove from Shanna who was stood besides him.

“You know exactly who I was talking about Christopher” Lisa sighs rolling her eyes playfully at him as she crossed the kitchen to say hello to Ellie.

“How you feeling sweetie?” Lisa asks glancing up at you.

“Good, nice and relaxed, thanks for helping out” you smile gratefully.

“It’s nothing me and your mom are looking forward to making dinner together” Lisa smiles, your mom nodding in agreement.

“Can we open some presents now?” Ethan asks once he was finished eating.

“What’s the magic word?” Carly says raising a brow.

“Please?” Ethan asks, Carly glancing over to you and Chris.

“Of course little man, you three kids head through and we’ll be through in a moment” Chris says nodding his head, the three kids all rushing out of the kitchen.

The morning was spent watching all the kids open their presents from Santa. Ellie was sat in Chris’ lap as he helped her unwrap her present from Santa. Ellie of course was more enthralled with the colourful wrapping paper than the actual toy.

You set Ellie down for a nap while you all sat down for Christmas dinner. You had managed to help your mom and Lisa out making Christmas dinner, even if Chris told you just to relax.

After eating far too much food and exchanging some terrible jokes you all settled down to watch a Christmas movie. The children picking muppets Christmas carol. Due to the large volume of guests you and Chris ended up sitting on the floor together, you sat in between Chris’ legs leaning back against his chest with his arms around you.

About half way through the movie the baby monitor burst to life with the sound of Ellie crying. You went to push yourself up but before you got the chance Scott was up.

“I’ll go get her, you two relax” he smiles heading out of the living room.

A few minutes later Scott reappear with a still tearful Ellie.

“Sorry I couldn’t get her to settle” Scott apologises bouncing Ellie gently.

“Its fine, c’mere sweetie” you say holding out your arms for Scott to pass you Ellie.

Once in your arms you held her close rubbing her back soothingly as she nuzzled her face into the crook of your neck.

“Hey there princess what’s all this crying about?” Chris says gently as he watched over your shoulder.

Thankfully she soon settled back down and fell asleep in your arms, clearly worn out from all the crying.

“Maybe she had a bad dream” Stella said shifting so she could look at her baby cousin.

“Yeah probably dreamt about the grinch stealing Christmas” Chris chuckles tickling Stella’s side making her giggle and squirm away towards her mom.

“I’ll give her a few minutes before settling her back upstairs, I don’t want to disturb the movie too much” you say conscious of the film that had been paused.

“Oh its fine dear, we just all have to be mindful of our voices don’t we?” Lisa says looking at the three kids who nodded in agreement.

“Okay, but if she starts fussing again i’ll take her out and don’t worry about pausing the movie” you agree.

Everyone nodded in agreement hitting play on the movie and true to their words all the kids made sure they weren’t too loud.

Despite being a massive fan of muppets Christmas carol Chris ended up spending the remaining time watching you with Ellie in your arms. At you point you caught him watching smiling up at him over your shoulder.

“You okay?” You ask him whispering so you didn’t disturb everyone.

“Yeah, I’m perfect” Chris whispers a warm smile on his face as he kissed the side of your head, wrapping his arms around you tighter.

Once the movie was over Ellie had woken up in a much better mood, in perfect time to unwrap the rest of the presents. All the kids went first again excitedly unwrapping their gifts from everyone. Ellie absolutely loving the brand new bunny toy Scott and Steve gave her.

Once the children were occupied playing with their new toys the adults started swapping their gifts. Which much to her delight meant Ellie got passed around to whoever had their hands free, allowing her to get quality time with all her grandparents, uncles and aunties.

“Here you go sweetheart” Chris smiles passing you your gift from him.

“Thank you, Merry Christmas Chris” you smile passing him his gift in turn.

You start unwrapping his gift revealing a square box. Once you open it you see a gorgeous necklace inside. It was a simple silver chain which had 3 gemstones embedded in the metal. You instantly recognise that each gem were the birth stones for you, Chris and Ellie.

“Chris this is beautiful, thank you so much” you smile gently running your fingers over the necklace.

“Your welcome, the jeweller said he could easily add more stones to it if and when our family grows” Chris smiles making tears well up in your eyes.

“Its amazing. You’re amazing” you smile cupping his cheek and bringing his lips to yours.

“No you’re amazing, you made this day the best Christmas ever, and your gift is amazing I’ll never take it off” he says holding up the leather bracelet you’d given him which has a single strip of metal with your anniversary and co-ordinates of where you said your vows engraved.

“This day would have been a disaster if you didn’t step in and tell me to relax” you point out.

“No it wouldn’t have, but I’m glad you enjoyed it, and I think Ellie has too” Chris says nodding over Ellie who was giggling with Scott and Steve as they tickled and played peekaboo with her new bunny.

“Yeah she has, definitely the best first Christmas ever” you smile as you watched Ellie.

“Almost makes me want another” Chris smirks making you chuckle.

“Yeah lets wait a few more months first, let things calm back down again” you tell him.

“Okay, but we can still practice right?” Chris smirks making you laugh.

“Of course, I’ve got a very special Christmas present waiting for you upstairs” you whisper with a smirk, grinning when you see his eyes widen slightly.

“How soon can we kick everyone out?” He asks raising a brow.

“Chris they’re staying the night!” You remind him laughing.

“I know but I’m not sure I can wait that long now” Chris says with a small pout.

“Don’t worry I’ll make the wait worth it” you wink cupping his chin bringing his lips to yours earning a quiet groan from him.

One that you thought only you heard but when you glanced over at Scott and saw him mouth ‘disgusting’ with a disapproving shake of his head, you knew that definitely wasn’t the case at all.

The interviewer asked him a randome and simple question and He could just answer a very simple one like i focus on my career, i focus about my asp or i focus about other achievement exp. Acting and bla bla bla.But he chose to answer about his personal live i mean why, and we all could see that before he gave that answer he thought what to day... Idk I never got the feeling that he was annoyed about Dodger. Tbh it just seemed like he was doing his job and Chris got pissy for some reason. Like others said, Chris was probably having an off day. // I got this impression because he complained about Dodger farting in the print and called him a mutt, so maybe he said something along those lines or made a face and Chris saw and got irritated

November 6th

Chris was in a huge need for a vacation. Interviews, zoom meetings, ASP, he was dying for a break. Now he finally got time to take one.

He brought his beer to his lips, drinking it. Chris decided to come to Cancun because it seemed like a good place to relax. His eyes scanned the crowd around himself. There were people everywhere chatting with people. He thought he was the only person who wasn't until his eyes landed on you.

His stomach did a loop when he saw how beautiful you were. You sat alone, blue jean shorts on and a crop top. Your eyes scanning the crowd just like Chris's was.  The straw that was in your mouth was being chewed on and your face turned as you thought about the people around you and how much fun they were having.

You were in the same situation as Chris. You were on vacation from work, all by yourself. To be honest you were kinda hating it. But soon you wouldn't.

Chris was inching to talk to you. He didn't know if you were alone, but he was tempted.  He waited for a while just to make sure that you weren't with anyone before he stood up. He took a deep breath before he walked over to you. 

"Hola." As soon as Chris said that he regretted it.

You looked up at what you just heard a guy's voice. The way you almost forgot how to breathe when you saw him was quite sad. He was like a gift sent from heaven. Finer than any guy you've ever seen.

"Hi. Don't worry I speak English." You chuckled as you sat up straight. Chris smiled at you, "um I noticed you were alone and I would like to talk to you because you're beautiful - I mean I'm alone as well so you know it's um yeah."

Chris mentally cursed himself as he rambled. He probably blew his chance to talk to you. 

"I would love to talk to you." You pulled out the chair next to you. "Here sit." A smile rested on Chris's face as he sat beside you. With an exhale, he looked over at you. "So what is a pretty lady doing here by herself?"

You smiled, laughing slightly. "Well my friend demanded that I take a break from work and go on a little vacation. So here I am." You pointed to the beach that was to your left.

Chris nodded. "So…" you started. "What is a guapa like you doing here by yourself?"  You asked. Chris blushed as you spoke spanish.

"Well it's the same as you. My publicist made me go on vacation."

"Publicist?"

Chris gasped. "Yeah, I'm an actor." He whispered the last part. "Ever watched Captain America?" You nodded. "Yeah well that's me."

You were a little confused at first but then it hit you. He was Chris evans.

"Oh that's cool. Chris Evans." The way you were calm and didn't go fangirl on him made Chris feel comfortable around him. "Yeah so what do you do?"

"I work as a preschool teacher. i love working with kids." You smiled as you thought about the kids back at your school. You looked at Chris. He was smiling, his palm was pressed against his face as he listened to you. You felt your face heat up. "So why don't we spend the rest of the day together. You know so we aren't lonely."

Chris chuckled and the hottest way. "Okay. Sounds like a plan."

For the rest of the day you and Chris spent the day together. you both talked, Chris took you to dinner at a beautiful restaurant that you definitely couldn't afford. You both told each other stories about your families, shared a few laughs, and winks with each other. 

Chris was a complete gentleman. At the end of the night you found out you both were staying at the same hotel. Chris Walked you to your room. He asked for your number which you of course gave to him.

"I'll call you later?" Chris said as he put his phone in his pocket. "Yes, of course. "You and Chris smiled at each other as you stood in silence. You both started inching closer and closer before your lips touched. 

You moaned softly as you melted into his kiss. His lips were soft against yours as they moved together. 

Unfortunately you both had to pull away for air after a while. You looked into his blue eyes. "Wow... your lips are soft." You chuckled softly. Chris looked at you. "I know. Well it's getting late. I think we should both get some sleep. I'll see you tomorrow okay?"

You nodded, "okay." You opened your hotel room door and walked in. Before you shut it, you waved to Chris. Goodnight hermoso." With that you shutted your door.

Chris shook his head with a smile. He didn't understand you both, he knew it meant something special.

Days turned into a week. You and Chris spent every day of your vacation with each other and it was fun. But unfortunately you both had to go home. 

You slung your bag over your shoulder. "I'm going to miss you." You pouted as you looked at Chris. Chris cupped your cheek. "I am too but you can call me and text me whenever you feel like. I'm not going anywhere." 

You smiled. "Okay. Well we both need to get on our flights. Goodbye Chris." You took his hand in yours. "Goodbye y/n." He kissed the back of your hand. You exhaled before letting go and walked the way to your flight. Hopefully you'll see him soon.

December 20th

You and Chris kept contact after you both left. He would call you every day and make sure that you were doing well. Sometimes you would zoom so you could see Dodger. You loved the pups so much even though you haven't seen him yet.

You were sitting on your couch, your TV was playing a baking show that you weren't paying much attention to. Your phone ringing snapped you out of your daze. You sat up, grabbing your phone. Looking at the caller ID you saw Chris. You smile as you take the call.

"Hi Chris!" 

"Hi honey, how are you." You smiled as you heard his question. "I'm great. How are you?"

"I'm perfect. Hey I got a question." You listened as Chris continued. "Um I was wondering if you have nothing going on Christmas you can come to Boston to celebrate Christmas with me. What do you say?"

You couldn't believe it. He wanted you to spend Christmas with him and his family. You were flattered. 

"I would love to. I'll catch a flight and I'll be there. By chris."

Chris said his goodbye to you and hung up the phone. As soon as you heard the line end you squealed. You were happy to be spending the holidays with him. You hopped off of the couch, running to your room. You needed to pack.

Your flight wasn't long. You arrived safely in Boston in no time. The cold new England air hit you as you walked out of the airport. You scanned the roads until you found Chris waiting for you. 

When you both saw each a smile appeared on your faces. You ran up to, wrapping your arms around him, kissing his lips you miss so much.

"How are you Chris?" You asked as you pulled away. "I'm amazing now that you're here. Come on let's go to my mom's house where everyone is waiting. And it's also nice and warm."

Chris took your luggage and put it in the trunk while you got in the passenger side.  After putting your things in the back, Chris got in the drivers side. 

He drove to his mom's house while playing some Christmas classics. You smirked as you listened to him sing. He was seriously adorable.

5 minutes later Chris arrived at his mom's home. He parked in the driveway, turning off the car before turning to you. 

"Are you ready?" You took a deep breath, "ready as I'll ever be." Chris nodded, "alright let's go." Chris opened his Door, you doing the same. You walked to Chris's side and took his hand in yours. Together you both walked the short way up the stairs to the front door. Chris knocked twice before someone answered. It was Scott.

"Oh you must be y/n. I've heard a lot about you." Scott looked at Chris while giving Chris the kissy face. You chuckled softly at the two dorks. "Alright Scott cut it out."

You looked up to see Mama evans walking to the doorway. Scott moved out of the way giving Lisa her space. "How are you? Chris has told me a lot about you."

Lisa pulled you into a hug. You smiled softly as you returned it. "I'm great." You pulled away. "Well come in. Everyone is waiting for you both." 

Lisa welcomed you both inside. You happily walked in. Pictures of Chris's family hung up on the wall making you smile. You followed Chris, Lisa and Scott further into the house until you reached the living room. 

There were some people you found out were Chris' siblings and nieces and nephews. You greeted all of them before sitting next to Chris on the love seat in the corner. 

As the day went on Chris's nieces and nephews opened up presents. It made you smile watching them get excited as they opened their gifts. Kinda reminded you of your Pre-K class. 

You didn't even notice Chris looking at you every now and then. He saw every reaction you had and how easily you warmed up to everyone. He seriously thinks you're a keeper. So did Mama Evans. While you were playing with Chris's niece she pulled him away for a little chat. 

"So y/n huh? She's a sweetheart." Lisa said. Chris smiled at his mom's words. "Yeah she is. I've only met her last month, but she's amazing and I already love her." 

Lisa knew when her son was in love and this was one of those moments. She smiled as she saw Chris looking at you as you played. "Well you two can go talk while I get dinner prepared. Ask her to stay for a while. I love having her here." 

Chris nodded as he stood up. They both went their separate ways. Lisa to the kitchen and Chris to you. "Hey can I talk to you for a second?"

You looked up at Chris. "Yeah sure." You told little stella you would keep playing with her later and then followed Chris. He took your hand and led you to his childhood bedroom. Once you both were in, Chris shutted the door and turned to you. 

"Uh it's been amazing having you here." Chris walked up to you, he was beaming hard. "Can you stay maybe till new years? I don't want you to go, not yet." You smiled at Chris, the guy you were deeply in love with. "Of course. I'll love to stay here with you until then."

 Chris felt an overwhelming rush of joy take over himself. He cupped your cheek. "l love you." He whispered against your lips softly.

"Me too Mi amor."

[Marie Claire released a pretty big interview with Marine Turchi, the reporter who did the investigation on Adèle’s sexual assault case. So i translated the parts of the interview that talked about the case. The whole interview is very interesting, you can see how professional and thorough Marine Turchi really is. She was the youngest journalist on the team when Mediapart started in 2008, and before she started investigating sexual assault cases in 2017, she was, and still is, writing about the french far right party, which is also talked about in this article. Marine Turchi, the one Adèle Haenel trusts

Marine Turchi, 37, journalist in Mediapart, is one of those who demonstrate that impunity is no longer possible. By releasing the Adèle Haenel case, she signed one of the most outstanding investigations of recent years. It was on Sunday November 3, 2019, at 7 pm; Mediapart posted an article entitled "French actress Adèle Haenel accuses filmmaker of 'sexual harassment' when a minor French actress Adèle Haenel accuses filmmaker of 'sexual harassment' when a minor".

It's long, very long - three times the size of what you're used to read. With "surgical" precision, Marine Turchi carries out seven months of investigation, gives the floor to more than thirty people, accumulates dates, testimonies, extracts from letters and notebooks.

From this ultra-detailed millefeuille, the following emerges: from 2001, and for three years, Christophe Ruggia, a filmmaker then aged 36, allegedly sexually assaulted and harassed Adèle Haenel, a 12-year-old debutante actress.

The day after the article was published, Adèle Haenel was invited by Mediapart: a special live broadcast, free (unlike the website, which is a pay-per use site), hosted by the boss and co-founder Edwy Plenel and by Marine Turchi. The double cesarized actress tells us today: "I was a bit nervous before the show. I wanted to have a think about all this. I had carefully prepared for it. At worst, if the words wouldn’t come out, I thought there would still be Marine’s article, which was extremely solid.” But she manages to talk. She speaks to every soul, touches every heart.

Vibrant with contained anger, sensitive and without giving in, Adèle Haenel suddenly gives a voice, a face, a body to those who no longer want to keep quiet. She says she is expressing herself to "put the world back in the right direction", calling for an awareness of society as a whole.

It’s a deflagration. The case is unique because of its repercussions, because of the very status of the accuser, a "powerful" woman, who’s aware of her power, but the case is also sadly ordinary in the way it reveals violence against women and minors. It precedes the Matzneff case and the Abitbol case, comes after the Denis Baupin or Roman Polanski cases, and in parallel with those involving Luc Besson, Tariq Ramadan or Gérald Darmanin

It seems endless. It is, and it’s also for this reason that Marine Turchi accepted the appointment with Marie Claire. "Because sexual violence is a huge public health problem.”

The meeting between Adèle Haenel and Marine Turchi

Adèle Haenel and Marine Turchi meet in April 2019, during a party that brings together "about a hundred people": at the end of the evening, by chance, they are a few women who find themselves talking. Very quickly, they tackle the #MeToo issue.

Adèle Haenel recalls: "It was the second time in a few months that I heard women's groups tell each other stories of sexual assault. It was crazy. Everybody had one... As for me, I was trying to do something about it. I felt it was necessary to speak out, given the total impunity of my abuser who was about to make a film with teenagers again, using the same character names as Les Diables”

That evening, one of the women in the small group said that Marine Turchi is a journalist, that she investigates sexual violence cases. Two days later, Marine Turchi and Adele Haenel met again. Two long interviews, then the actress finds letters from Ruggia, her own notebooks, gives names of people to call. The investigation can begin, on a long-term basis. With hindsight, Adèle Haenel thinks that "Marine Turchi is not affected, she doesn't let herself be carried away by sudden emotions or hot reactions. On the contrary, she is meticulous, lucid and courageous. And even when the wind is blowing hard, she remains calm".

The turning point in the case has a date: June 2019. Marine Turchi contacted Christophe Ruggia's former girlfriend, director Mona Achache, and told her: "I'm calling you about accusations of sexual violence against Christophe Ruggia." A “long blank” follows. Then Mona Achache answers by pronouncing, "the first", the name of Adèle Haenel. And like about thirty other people, the director agreed to speak openly. The memories of some and the anecdotes of others give credence to the actress's words.

It’s still necessary to collect the testimony of Christophe Ruggia - the "adversarial procedure" in Mediapart language, the testimony of the defendant. We are then in October 2019. Marine Turchi tries, on several occasions, to contact the filmmaker. "I really wanted him to answer me. Adversarial is not a gimmick to make things look pretty. It's crucial to get the version of the people involved, and besides, it strengthens the article. »

But Ruggia remains mute. She ends up sending him detailed questions about the case, while giving him a helping hand on the theme: "Could you have had an attitude, gestures, of which you would not have measured the consequences?” And what if he had recognized tendentious behavior or even sexual assault? "Of course I would have included it in the article! We would have had her own path, how to go from silence to words; and on the other hand, what goes on in the mind of the defendant." Except that the silence persists. Eventually, Christophe Ruggia briefly lets his lawyers know that he denies any "harassment" or "touching" - which will be included in the article.

Then, on November 6, three days after the publication of the investigation, the filmmaker sent a right of reply to Mediapart, "which was immediately published": he acknowledges a "hold" on the actress but continues to refute the sexual assaults.

The same day, however, the Paris Public Prosecutor's Office opened a preliminary investigation. Shortly afterwards, Adèle Haenel, who had initially dismissed the idea, filed a complaint. “I am aware that I have benefited from a journalistic investigation that most women victims of violence will not have" she told Marie Claire. “Therefore, following the opening of the investigation by the public prosecutor's office and in order to move things forward, I had to file a complaint. Because what is left for women who are not in the media space, if not justice? »

More than 400 reports after broadcasting Adèle Haenel’s testimony

Since November, Marine Turchi has been receiving a large number of reports of sexual violence - more than 400 emails, letters, or alerts via social networks. All of them say something clicked after the speech of Adèle Haenel, all of them evoke an immense pain, the difficulty to speak against the "powerful", to speak at all. I don’t think Chris has that big of a role in Don’t Look Up so I don’t think he would still be filming. There was a solid 10+ days of shooting prior to the holiday break. Man these Zooms are a blessing and a curse. I love seeing Chris but the madness they cause in the fandom is too much.
